Expecting Excellence

After reading an article in “Expecting Excellence” asking the question “are we preparing our students for the 21st century?” I thought to myself “I have read about this a hundred times, what’s new with this?” But the writer of the article really went deep in finding a good story about if we really are preparing our students, or should I say me for the 21st century. Well over the past years I have learned that no one can prepare for the future, only train the body and mind in ways so that we can adapt to circumstances that may lead to a positive or negative outcome depending on one’s personal judgment or ideas. By using the seven skills as said in the article about expressing, organizing, and problem solving I’m sure since they where so well spoken we do have hope for the near future to come.

This I Believe Video Response

In the video provided found on the article "Dancing To Connect To A Global Tribe" it is a single white man, dancing. Now if you lived in a different country and saw a different colored man randomly dancing in the street you would think "What is he doing that for" am I right? its a natural response. But in a deeper perspective just because an ocean separates people doesn't mean we don't have anything in common. You see we do have a lot in common! We all laugh, we all cry, we all sing, and we all dance, to prove it watch this video. Every human being in the world is connected in one way or another. So why can't we relate to everyone if our deepest emotions are felt by others too? Well, we can! We "as in everyone" can relate to everyone else, we just need to find it, and in the video, one man "Matt" as read in the article "Dancing To Connect To A Global Tribe" is starting that relation between him, others, and the world.

Winters Moveing In!

http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_13506241?source=rss
As the snow falls and winter begins it's slow and steady crawl into Colorado many locals are ether thankful because of last years dry winter or annoyed because well, it's winter. The respect and or disrespect for this weather has 3 sides. I love it, I hate it, or you just don't care. But the ability to love both winter and summer is very hard. I personally am still trying to like winter. The beauty in the snow as it blankets the ground is a God sent. but the cold that comes with it to is not so fun to me. I am an outdoors kind of person and the snow makes the world around you seem more adventurous. But at the same time by sitting under a still tree the world around you seems to be asleep in a way... All I can say now is that the snow coming in shouldn't be a bad thing, but a beautiful gift from the sky you should worship because hey, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When Mother Nature gives you snow, make a snow man!
